The Acceptable Management Practices for Bat Eviction and Remediation in Virginia is a training program outlining common problems associated with bats and provides recommended management strategies for eviction, remediation, and protection of bats from White Nose Syndrome.
This course will help you manage bat issues effectively, by providing you comprehensive information regarding the bat species involved, the nature of the damage caused by the bats, an understanding of public reactions to bats, and the Virginia laws and regulations pertaining to this species. A thorough understanding of bat biology and habitat enables a Wildlife Control Operator (WCO) to employ appropriate methods to mitigate or eliminate undesirable behavior, conflicts, or the bats themselves.
This is an online course complete with all reading materials and takes approximately 8 hours to complete. A certificate of completion is provided with a passing grade of 80%. This course is required by Virginia DWR to handle and manage bats in Virginia.
